This incredible coin is the second release of the “Planets and Gods” series, which comes after the Mercury coin.
The coin is dedicated to the fourth planet from the Sun and the second-smallest planet in the Solar System after Mercury – Mars. Mars bears its name in honour of the Roman god of war due to its red appearance.
The god is depicted on the coin as an armed warrior. In different cultures, Mars represents masculinity, youth, and its symbol is used as the symbol for the male gender. The coin’s background is tinted red in order to match the planet’s bloody colour that creates an interesting contrast with a high relief image of the god Mars. Antique finished and with digital printing, this coin is a great continuation of the “Planets and Gods” series!
